TEST KNITTING
When I, as a knitting designer, publish a new knitting pattern, I want them to be tested by both experienced and new test knitters. This is done to make sure that my knitting patterns are understandable, that the measurements and yarn consumption are correct, and to check that my calculations are perfect.
I am constantly looking for test knitters for new and upcoming designs. I have certain expectations for you as a test knitter and for our collaboration.
You must be prepared to meet deadlines, which should be ample time for the task.
You must be open to giving feedback on fit, yarn consumption, measurements, and providing your thoughts and notes about your work on an ongoing basis so that any errors can be caught before you get too far.
Unfortunately, I currently cannot afford to give away yarn for test knitting. When the pattern is finished and ready for publication, all test knitters will of course receive the finished pattern.
As for yarn for the patterns, the stated yarn quality should be used as a rule, so that the test knitting is as accurate as possible. However, since I cannot send yarn, I am open to you choosing a yarn alternative that matches the knitting tension.
My tests are usually not secret, so you are welcome to share pictures on social media during and after knitting. When it is a sweater or something that has to fit a body, I am very interested in seeing pictures of the finished knit being worn, because it obviously shows me how the design fits on real bodies.
All test knits and associated images, feedback and notes become the property of Axelknit upon submission. You may not share or publish the pattern, images of the finished work or details of the testing process without prior written approval from Axelknit.
Is this something for you? Then write to me at axelknit@gmail.com – I will send you an email, and you will get back to me when there are new designs to test. It is completely non-binding and you only have to say yes if you have the desire and energy for it.
I am looking for both experienced and new knitters, permanent and "loose" testers, so feel free to write to me.
I look forward to hearing from you.
