AXEL SWEATER

The Axel Sweater is worked top-down in stockinette stitch. First, the yoke is worked back and forth on the needle to shape the neckline. The work is then joined, and the remainder of the yoke is worked in the round on a circular needle with raglan increases. Sleeves and body are finished with wide ribbed edges in double rib and a stockinette-stitch edge. The rolled neck collar is worked last from picked-up stitches.

Choosing a size: The Axel Sweater is designed to have approximately 20 cm of positive ease relative to your chest measurement. Measure yourself before you begin knitting to determine which size will fit you best. For example, if you measure 85 cm around the chest (or the widest part of your body), you should knit a size S. A size S sweater has a chest circumference of 108 cm and will, in this example, give a positive ease of 23 cm.
